This online tribute is dedicated to Yvonne Barbor (née Hubback) and her family in the United Kingdom. In 2008, while working at The Heritage Station Hotel (Kuala Lumpur Railway Station), I became fascinated with the magnificent architecture of the historic building. That curiosity led me to Yvonne, the daughter of the legendary architect and Brigadier General Arthur Benison Hubback (A.B. Hubback).

My original mission was to secure permission from the family to establish a physical tribute to the Hubback brothers at The Heritage Station Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, that never materialised.

However, I made a solemn promise to Yvonne and her family. What remains today is this online archive dedicated to sharing the remarkable story of the Hubback brothers with researchers, historians, and admirers of Malaya's colonial heritage.

To Mrs. Yvonne Barbor, Dr. Peter Barbor (grandson of A.B. Hubback), and the entire Hubback family — you have my deepest gratitude. Not only for your kindness to me, but for the immense contributions your family made to then-Malaya, which continue to enrich modern-day Malaysia. This blog is my small way of honouring that legacy.
